THE FABULOUS 50 th REUNION:
SHOREWOOD HIGH SCHOOL CLASS OF ‘57

WHEN: Friday, September 28; Saturday, September 29; Sunday, September 30, 2007. Dress: Resort Casual 

WHERE: Grand Geneva Resort in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, at the junction of Highways 50 and 12 in Walworth County. Map is enclosed. Make your reservations early at the special Shorewood High School Reunion rate of $110. After August 29 rooms may no longer be available at our group rate.

It’s looking like we will have a fantastic turnout of classmates, spouses, and special guests with planned activities and plenty of time to visit, enjoy the resort, do the spa thing, golf, play tennis, shop in Lake Geneva, circle the lake on a beautiful walking path, even horseback ride.

When you check into the hotel you will be given a pin & badge to be worn throughout the weekend. Grand Geneva staff will be looking for this identification in order to provide special pricing at golf, access to SHS events, and we can use the badge to recognize each other after all these years.

FRIDAY, September 28:

• Arrive anytime Friday and check into the hotel.
• 5 PM - Gather in the Grand Geneva Pavilion, outside the Golf Clubhouse for our Welcome get-together & BBQ.

• If the weather is inclement on Friday, we will meet indoors.
• Cash bar will be available, and we will dine throughout the evening.

SATURDAY, September 29:

Saturday is your day to visit in small groups, and enjoy the amenities of the Resort:

Go, Greyhounds and visit the DOG HOUSE:

Open Saturday, 9 AM to 3PM and again 6 PM to ???. Open Sunday on request!  

There will be a room filled with memories, notes from classmates and teachers who are unable to attend, SHS logoed items for sale and videotapes from previous reunions. We will also have a representative of the Wisconsin Longitudinal Study sponsored by UWM in which some of us have participated for 50 years.

The DOG HOUSE will be in the Galewoods meeting room, directly above the Resort lobby, and across the hall from the Evergreen Ballroom where Saturday evening’s activities take place.

“South Pacific” Cocktail Cruise: 4:30 PM to 6 PM:

• “All Aboard” the Lady of the Lake, our private yacht for a cocktail cruise around Geneva Lake.
• Hors d’oeuvres, cash bar, and live music.
• Grand Geneva Trolleys can transport people from the main lobby to the Riviera Docks beginning around 3:30 PM, and will return us to the hotel after the Cruise.
• You may, as an alternative, drive your own car to the Riviera Docks in downtown Lake Geneva before 4:30 PM. However, finding a place to park is often a challenge.
• If weather is inclement, other arrangements will be announced.

THE GRAND EVENT: 7 PM – Evergreen Ballroom  

• European Dining Stations, Cash Bar, and live music.
• Great reminiscing with classmates
• Visit with teachers from our past
• Mystery Photo awards, a video recap of the weekend, and much more
  (The DOG HOUSE, across the hall, will be open until 9 PM.)
• Dress is Resort Casual

GOLF: NO DENIM ON THE GOLF COURSE, PLEASE!
Grand Geneva Resort has two world-renowned golf courses and we’ve arranged special greens fees for both courses. As an SHS graduate, you and your guest are able to play 18 holes for only $75 each. (Here’s a place where it’s very important to be wearing your pin, since our greens fees are ½ the regular rate) You can call the golf course directly to make tee time reservations. 262-249-4721. We know a good number of you are interested in golfing. Rate includes range balls, and GPS equipped carts. Tee times currently being held for SHS include:

TENNIS:
Indoor Courts ($30 per hour) and Outdoor Courts ($12 per hour). Contact the Spa Front Desk at 262-248-8811 for availability and reservations.  

SPA SERVICES & HAIR SALON:
Your reservation at the hotel entitles you to participate at no additional charge in activities at the Well Spa. Available are exercise equipment, two pools, men’s and women’s lockers, hot tub and sauna, plus a climbing wall if your health insurance is up to date. Drop in and check out all the features. Make reservations for special spa services such as a massage, facial, hand massage, pedicure, hair care, whatever your heart desires by calling the Spa at 262-248-8811. We expect to establish some special pricing.
